About This Wine:
Scattered throughout the region are World Heritage sites, including medieval castles, Stone Age rock paintings and historic cities. South and east of Spain’s capital city of Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha traditionally has been known as a source of table wines made in large quantities. But an increasing number of top-quality wines are now appearing.
This is a positive development, obviously, because more than half of Spain's grapes are grown there. Both large producers and small, family-owned estates now employ modern winemaking technology, combined with a judicious selection of grape varieties.
Verdejo is by far the most widely planted variety in this part of the country, and wines made entirely from Verdejo grapes — such as the 2018 vintage from Vandalos — are held in high regard. Take a sip of the 2018 vintage, and experience the delicious marriage of heritage and modernity.
