About This Wine:
Both are crafted from the Nebbiolo grape variety, which dates back to the 13th century and is named for “nebbia,” the Italian word for “fog.” This thick-skinned variety is right at home in the cooler climate of Piedmont and the seasonal fog found there, providing ideal conditions for grape growing. Based around the towns of Barbaresco, Neive, Treiso and San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, the region lies east of Barolo and consists of 65 crus.
Nebbiolo is the only variety allowed for use in making Barbaresco DOCG wines. By law, Barbaresco must be aged at least two years prior to release, and must spend at least nine months of that time in oak barrels.
The 2017 Barbaresco from Roversi is a remarkably fresh wine with lots of red cherry flavor. Full bodied and beautifully balanced, it’s a delicious taste of Piedmont.
